Behind every paisley, bird and bloom, there’s a story. For the inside scoop on the inspiration behind the most recent additions to our colorful family, we turned to Liz of Liz on Location for the details on our fresh designs, starting with Island Blooms.
“This creates a mood similar to that of a tropical and lush atmosphere, through stylized, tribal-inspired white blooms on a crystal-clear aqua lagoon. Travel to a paradise that echoes the style of Gauguin’s Tahitian paintings, complete with a palette of aquatic hues. You can almost taste the tropical flavors found on a leisurely stroll along the coastline.
The interior is equally inspiring, with a mosaic-like span of tiles in coordinating colors. The design illustrates the color blocking trend of the season, while the rough lines illustrate the free strokes of a brush.”

I love the bright colors and the big bold blooms as opposed to using smaller blooms or details. The navy stitching accents well too. As a teacher, new VB totes alway add excitement to my day by carrying lesson plans and tons of student work in style. This is just a perfect happy vibrant color!

I recently got a new pair of VB glasses. My husband went to a local store that sold VB to see if they had the pattern that was on my glasses. They did not and was told that the pattern had been retired. so he bought me a purse, wallet, and photo book in a different pattern for Christmas. I really love the patterns that you have but after reading the comments about VB things being made in China, I don’t think that I will be getting anything else until that changes.

Island Blooms reminds me of cool Spring days at the beach in Galveston,TX. Strollng down The Strand window-shopping, eating ice cream, and just enjoying the day. This would look so good celebrating Mardi Gras in Galveston. I am about to start another semester again and this pattern brings me back to good memories and taking it slow. It’s not uncommon for me to address my Vera bags by name; “This is Vera’s new precious pedal, eloise bag.” Yes I am a walking talking sales consultant. A tad bit addicted an a big, did i mention BIG FAN!! I have been known to say, “Where’s Vera?” anyone who knows me knows my “VERA” is missing and who will run to help me find her!! Island Blooms is the perfect vacation print!! It will be a good present for my mom to celebrate the finished reconstruction of my family’s beach house after it was nearly destroyed by Hurricane Ike in 2008. The house has been in my family for 4 generations and holds many precious memories. After four years of rebuilding and constant repairs, this Spring we will finally be able to relax and enjoy the house.

This new pattern (as all Vera patterns) is AMAZING! I love how bold it is using the thick black lines, while really only using 2 colors – and the lime in the green is gorgeous it was one of my favorite features in the Baroque pattern! The blue just makes you long for warm weather – its a great combination to welcome the nice weather and really stand out! If I don’t win it – I sure will be buying it!

I was looking this past weekend at a local shop with Vera Bradley, and the owner said that the new collection was coming soon. She gave me a sneak peak and as soon as she flipped the page to this pattern, Island Bloom, I thought it was so cute and will totally fit for the spring/summer, and is a must have on my list!! It reminds me of the colorful Bahamas!

These are, in my opinion, the most disappointing designs I have seen come out of VB in a very long time … and my wallet is relieved LOL … gives me a chance to recover financially from the tons of VB things I’ve purchased over the last few years!! Thanks for some pretty tacky patterns that looks like a class of 2nd graders drew. 🙂 I’ll be using the gorgeous ‘Tea Garden’ pattern this spring that I’ve been saving … 🙂

I love this print & it truly does remind ome of the Islands. I live on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina and this truly is Island Colors. Can you believe this when we moved into our new house I wanted a bathroom with lime green & aqua & that’s exactly what our guest bath is – LOVE IT & would love to win this bag in Island Blooms.
I really like this print. I live in Florida and LIVE in these colors! 🙂 This is so different for Vera. It almost reminds me of stained glass windows !!! GOTTA GET EVERYTHING IN THIS COLOR.
