A closer look: Plum Crazy

Purple, in all its rich, royal splendor, falls on the color wheel somewhere between magenta and violet. Plum Crazy, the first of our new offerings for Spring 2013, is a celebration of the darkest hues of this color, highlighted by a handful of contrasting shades. Our Trend Reporter Liz has more.
Plum Craz

What inspired it …

“Plum Crazy is a stylized interpretation of the Scandinavian prints found in the 50s and 60s, with the simple two-dimensional motifs lending a retro vibe. In combination with spring’s ‘it’ colors — plum, teal and lime green — a perfect punch of tangerine keeps it modern and seasonless.”

How to wear it …

“My favorite color to wear with Plum Crazy is definitely green! With emerald being called the color of the year, I predict you’ll soon be adding a little green to your closet. This pattern looks so good with olive; the neutral green really lets the pattern shine.”

  19. Doris says:

Plum and green, FANTASTIC! I wish vera would select a few bags of each print design to have the lining be outside. It could create interesting mixes and matches. Also, some trimmed and pocketed bag styles would appear less cut up with the smaller prints featured. If this were to be outside on one, it be the at the top of my list.

  20. TxGal says:

I REALLY like this one !! Don’t care much for the other new one shown, too much in the pattern …
WHEN are you going to have a new wonderful, NEUTRAL PRINT ??? Something in browns, beige and black ??? Many of us would LOVE to see that for our work / career use … I love color but many times it just does NOT work with WORK clothing !! Thanks and Happy 2013 !!

  21. TxGal says:

PS … we need a New Neutral like Caffe Latte !!!

    • Jasmine says:

Totally agree TxGal. neutrals are badly needed. That is one reason why Java blue was such a big hit.

Most of us want a handbag (or any other accessory) that goes with our outfit. We do not pick an outfit to go with our handbag.
