Give a little

At Vera Bradley, Caring is listed as one of our Core Values, and it’s a trait we strive to keep at the forefront of our actions every day. It doesn’t take an extravagant act to make someone’s day a little brighter; it just takes a moment to make a difference. Here are a few of the ways we’ve connected with members of our community this month …

Allen County Christmas Bureau – Adopt a Family

Each Vera Bradley building set up a “Giving Tree” with ornaments identifying specific needs for families in the Fort Wayne area.

I volunteer to provide medical services at a homeless shelter once a month. And this summer I spent 6 weeks on a ship as part of a humanitarian mission to Southeast Asia! (with my Safari Sunset hipster in tow, now that I think of it). Looking forward to giving back in 2013 as well.

  3. I have only just found your company in the last year or so and absolutely love all the designs I wish I had the money to get all of your purses let alone even one, one day I will have me a Vera Bradley purse, until then I window shop. When I saw the picture of the bell ringing for TSA, you guys just scored even more brownie points in my book. I attend TSA and have bell rang its the most uplifting experience. To know that caring is your core value, just solidifies that yes, one day I WILL OWN A PIECE OF VERA BRADLEY.

Thank you for your beautiful designs, and what you do for the community!!!

Back to window shopping maybe I can find a deal and justify buying myself a birthday present!

    God Bless and Merry Christmas

Each year I pick a family in need, most of the time it’s a single parent home, and I become “secret santa”. I leave a box on the porch with a few gifts for each child in the family and something special for the parent, along with some non perishable foods. I sign the card Love Santa! I want to start collecting winter coats, hats, gloves and boots that people no longer use and give them FREE to families in need. It bothers me that people give their stuff to the Goodwill, and goodwill charges too much money! I also ring the bell for the solvation army 2 days during the holiday season. 😀

I think its great that Vera Bradley gives back to the community! I give back by Salvation Army Bell Ringing, volunteering for Cerebral Palsy breakfasts, making Christmas cards for soldiers, and making crafts for the elderly at nursing homes. My family also adopts a family each year around Christmas and it is a wonderful experience for everyone. I love giving back to the community, especially around Christmas time.
