Held this year at the breathtaking Loews Portofino Bay Hotel in Orlando, guests of the event were treated to excellent meals, great giveaways and intimate conversations about what happens behind the scenes at Vera Bradley.
Always a charismatic speaker, Co-founder Barbara Bradley Baekgaard revealed that Canyon is one of her favorite colors at the moment. She also draws fashion inspiration from ladies in the office and trips such as her recent adventure in Africa.
Kris Connell of Real Simple shared gifting tricks for the upcoming holiday season, and all those special occasions that fall in between. For example, tuck cooking utensils inside the colorful new Oven Mitt for a sweet housewarming present or use a Luggage Tag as your gift tag. Perfect for the matriarch of the family or the young bride, Connell suggested filling a Cookin’ with Vera with family recipes for a present she’ll adore.
After lunch, our guests filed back in for The Quilted Quiz Hour, a game show where contestants buzzed in to answer some tough Vera Bradley trivia (yes, we actually receive 40,000 job applicants each year). Next up, a little retail time with special shopping and mingling with Barb.
Before ending our time together, we welcomed Keynote Speaker Sally Lou Loveman to the stage. Sally Lou worked for 25 years at Harpo Studios as an audience specialist and the woman responsible for warming up the crowd before every show. She encouraged each and every one of us to: Recognize our destiny, take risks and be in the moment. Such wonderful reminders.
We would like to thank all those who worked so hard to make A Colorful Day possible, and all of you who joined us in Florida. Next stop for this event is Fort Wayne, Indiana, so stay tuned for more details!
