A Colorful Day – Orlando

A Colorful Day: OrlandoWhere can you go to be with other ladies who love Vera Bradley just as much as you do? A Colorful Day, of course!

Held this year at the breathtaking Loews Portofino Bay Hotel in Orlando, guests of the event were treated to excellent meals, great giveaways and intimate conversations about what happens behind the scenes at Vera Bradley.

Always a charismatic speaker, Co-founder Barbara Bradley Baekgaard revealed that Canyon is one of her favorite colors at the moment. She also draws fashion inspiration from ladies in the office and trips such as her recent adventure in Africa.

Kris Connell of Real Simple shared gifting tricks for the upcoming holiday season, and all those special occasions that fall in between. For example, tuck cooking utensils inside the colorful new Oven Mitt for a sweet housewarming present or use a Luggage Tag as your gift tag. Perfect for the matriarch of the family or the young bride, Connell suggested filling a Cookin’ with Vera with family recipes for a present she’ll adore.

After lunch, our guests filed back in for The Quilted Quiz Hour, a game show where contestants buzzed in to answer some tough Vera Bradley trivia (yes, we actually receive 40,000 job applicants each year). Next up, a little retail time with special shopping and mingling with Barb.

Before ending our time together, we welcomed Keynote Speaker Sally Lou Loveman to the stage. Sally Lou worked for 25 years at Harpo Studios as an audience specialist and the woman responsible for warming up the crowd before every show. She encouraged each and every one of us to: Recognize our destiny, take risks and be in the moment. Such wonderful reminders.

We would like to thank all those who worked so hard to make A Colorful Day possible, and all of you who joined us in Florida. Next stop for this event is Fort Wayne, Indiana, so stay tuned for more details!

Oh, I want to go! I’ll be there if it’s at the same time as the big warehouse sale so I can do both!

  2. When and where will the next one be?

  3. Angela M says:

Words cannot explain how badly I want to go to the next A Colorful Day event. I’m Vera obsessed! The whole event looks spectacular. I truly hope I can attend at least one in my lifetime. It would be a dream come true!

  4. Irasema Zarate-Saldana says:

My Mom, sister & niece attended this event! We (my daughters, friend & I) attended last year in Chicago and hope that all of us can attend together in Ft. Wayne in April! Can’t wait to be able to register!!!

  5. LisaF says:

It was an amazing day. It was our first time and we are already planning on going to Ft Wayne. 3 generations or VB fans!!!

  6. It was so much FUN!! Can’t wait to get to go again soon. Thank you Vera Bradley for a wonderful day!

  7. Zara says:

Same sentiment here – I really want to know if the Fort Wayne event will be the same week at the Outlet Sale!! I just went to the Colorful Day Las Vegas in April, but a two-in-one girls’ weekend would be worth the cross-country trip!!

  8. Angela M says:

I just noticed the Plum Crazy chairs! Plum Crazy isn’t even released yet and it is my favorite pattern! I have been waiting on its release since OhMyVera! showed a sneak peak. It still seems so far away, lol. It’s gorgeous! I hope those chairs go to good use, because they are fabulous!

  9. Tricia M. Campbell says:

OMGoodness!! I am one of the ladies in the picture above (to the right of Mrs. Baekgaard). I was soo excited to be able to attend the event (thank you Vera Bradley Marketing team & Ms. Elise Michalek for your attention to my plea) and meet a group of ladies (in the pic above) that I have connected with via Facebook (we had never met before this event) through OUR LOVE for Vera Bradley products and the brand itself!!

I was thrilled to be in a sea of beautiful ladies with VERA EVERYWHERE; then the cherry on the top was my surreal moment with Mrs. Barbara Bradley Baekgaard & her family ( I met her sister, Ms. Joan and Ms. Joan’s daugther, who we shared a moment talking about our Pandora bracelets) – talk about OVER THE MOON!!! I was ONE HAPPY, HAPPY, GIRL!! To know that Ms. Barbara and her family shared and spent their time (THE ENTIRE DAY) with the consumers of their products as though it was another day with an extended family, made me a LIFER (a lifetime consumer)!! They were very gracious, humble, and approachable!

I am soo glad to have had this experience and wish every Vera Bradley lover make it a point to attend at least 1 A Colorful Day event when an opportunity comes near your area!

Continued success and blessings for love, good health, prosperity, and loooooong life!!

    With love,
    Tricia M. Campbell

  12. Elaine Gough says:

I own about 30 Vera Bradley bags, mostly Mandy and a few Betsy from before that bag vanished. How do you go about getting invited to these woderful “Colorful Day” get togethers? What fun and prizes, too?

    • Tricia M. Campbell says:

There isn’t an invite – Vera Bradley post the event announcement on their facebook or twitter pages. If you don’t do either, then continue to follow this page, I’m sure that the same info can be found here. But if you want to attend, do register as soon as it is announced, the event sales out every time. Also a fellow Vera lover has great blog, http://www.ohmyvera.com/, she always has the most current Vera info.

  13. Teresa Bray says:

I just Love your purses. They
a re so awesome. I cant really aford them but i can always look.

    • Tricia M. Campbell says:

Try looking into some of your local consignment stores, ebay, yardsellr, or facebook groups that buy and trade Vera Bradley. Of course it is nice to be able to purchase new, but a nice, gently used Vera is still a Vera! 🙂 Happy Shopping!!

“Thank-you VERA,” that’s all I have to say!
“Thank-you VERA,” we LOVE YOU SO!
And we’ll take YOU wherever we go!!!!
And we’ll take YOU wherever we go…!!!

  17. Amber H. says:

This was my first big Vera event (not counting the store events), spent the day with my cousin and we had a wonderful time!! It was perfect having it in Orlando as that’s where we live and getting to meet Mrs. Barbara Bradley Baekgaard, Liz and so many others was joyful. Learning how the company came to be brought hope in knowing that a simple small dream can turn into something major. I also loved hearing more about the breast cancer foundation and all of their work, just amazing!! I did not know what to expect and was over the top in la-la-land with of course Vera all around!! Thank you for such a fun day and for being so gracious!! Looking forward to attending another Colorful Day event sometime soon!

  20. Mary Sue Larsen says:

I can not wait until they announce the dates for Indiana. We are getting a group from Milwaukee together to come down! I went to Chicago last year and had a blast as did my daughter. It is worth every penny we spent on it!

  21. Grace says:

I was hoping that maybe in a couple years you could bring a colorful day back to Chicago. It seems like a lot of fun!

    • Jill Flewitt says:

It will be back in Chicago come next October

      • Irasema Zarate-Saldana says:

Is this for sure???? Fort Wayne in April and Chicago in October???
OH MY!!! Let the Christmas Club be designated for the Windy City!!!! HELLO CHICAGO!! Can’t wait to tell my Mom & daughters!

      • Tonya says:

Are you certain the event will be in Chicago in October? I wish they would spread the event to new locations across the country. They just did Chicago last year. That’s not fair. : (
