Intimate nights by the flickering hues of a campfire, a starlit evening at a local festival, a fantastically mild day on the beach, outdoor weddings, weekend barbecues, pool parties … The list of summer celebrations is endless and we have four new colors to help you make a statement at any summer soiree.
This season, we were inspired by … flowers! Romantic, bold, micro, stylized, tossed, bouquets, oversized; you name it, and we were fond of it. The result: A group of Summer colors that’s anything but lacking in botanical beauty.
Watercolor is a romantic pattern influenced by the painting style of its namesake and colored in soft, nostalgic hues that make you want to put on a flirty dress and take a long walk down a tree-lined gravel road.
Viva la Vera is a party, with a combination of animated florals and bold, bright primary colors. It screams, “Turn up the music!” and begs you to dance along.
English Meadow is the softer side of summer, with micro florals in blue, green and yellow. It’s a nod to slow summer days spent enjoying the warmth of the sun.
Deco Daisy is black, white and red all over. We are loving the reemergence of red as a leading trend color. Deco Daisy boasts black and white Asian-inspired florals with a nod to the Art Deco (or Art Nouveau) movement with a sophisticated houndstooth lining.
Oh, we can’t wait for Summer! Just 10 days to go …

I love all of the new prints, but I am disappointed there’s no Navy. Navy is more of a summer color than black. Granted, we did get “Loves Me” a year or so ago, but it seems to me there’s a new black print every season.
If you’re looking for navy, check out Twirly Birds in navy. Not one of the newest colors but still nice. That’s what I’m getting my mom for her April birthday, I agree with you that navy is a good summer color too.

I got the Deco Daisy at Christmas – my Vera Bradley store at Park Meadows Mall (Denver, CO) was a test site. Love, love, love the bag. Looks great with black and is not “too much” pattern.
When will there be messenger bags again? The metropolitan looks like a diaper bag. I purchased a number of messenger when they were discontinued last summer; don’t need anything else.

I am not sure which prints I love, only because I am still absolutely loving the spring collection. I am finding ways to justify my need for totes in Boysenberry, Blue Lagoon, and Lemon Parfait b/c I have the Folkloric Betsy and it’s adorable. Perhaps the spring colors should have been released as summer?

The red-grounded patterns are almost always my favorites. Deco Daisy is definitely a hit! It will sell out quickly and be discontinued before you know it!!!! 🙂 Hey, I like someone’s comment above on the metropolitan bag…Seems like there are a few styles that are discontinued that shouldn’t be. I have to say the Get Carried Away bag was going to be the savior bag for me and my 17″ laptop and trips through the airport to the plane. Welp, talk about DIAPER BAG. It has bottle holders in the corners of the bag that are lined with vinyl. Extremely disappointed in that one.
But, the summer colors are great!

I have been buying Vera for over 16 years since high school and I have been waiting for the last 2 seasons for something to grab my eye but this summer collection I have to say for me is a disappointment. I miss the pinks with greens. Please Vera staff if you are listening please Do something different then the 60’s. I’m a 1990′ child and we are in 2011. I’m sorry to be so harsh. But I’m still wearing my petal pink collection because nothing has grabbed my eye but also until you came out with a new style of a purse too. Thanks

What happened to the patterns in some of the more traditional colors you used to do; navy blues, paisley patterns? Not everyone is a fan of florals and bright colors.
Well what about a compromise. Take the floral’s with the Disco Daisy but not the brightness.
Do you happen to like Boysenberry? It’s got both navy and paisley. I really love this pattern (Spring 2011)!

I agree Louisiana needs a VB store but not in Hammond. Hammond is not a good local for it. It needs to be in Corporate Towne Cebter in Baton Rouge so you can attract the college crowd as well as the metro city area. Baton Rouge is more populated now than New Orleans and Hammond doesn’t have the population volume to support a good VB store. Also an area like Praireville or Gonzales would be better than Hammond.

I really like the Viva la Vera and the Watercolor. But I don’t like the Deco Daisy for summer. It seems more like a fall pattern with the dark red and navy blue. I’m grateful for more summer like patterns with purple in it. The Simply violet is just too dark for summer, but it’s perfect for now. And I’m tired of my raspberry fizz for summer so I need something else and I suspect that Viva la Vera will be the next color I purchase.
The ladies in my family are all addicted to these lovely bags. My 7 year old son keeps asking why they can’t make something besides ties, etc. It’s a girl thing, is all I can reply. I get really excited over the new colors and trends. Thanks for this good addiction!

I’m slightly disappointed in the new colors. The only one that I might like when I see it in person is the Deco Daisy. The last set of patterns were way better. It always seems like hit of miss for me. Either I love just about all the new patterns of I dislike just about all the new patterns.
I love Deco Daisy! I have been waiting for a red! But loving Watercolor, too! Oh well, just have to get two!

I Dissapointed with all of them. Nothing has struck my fance since last fall. Im going with Brighton for a summer purse. Hopefully Fall 2011 will be much better.
I think I will be purchasing the Pencil Box in English Meadow, but I am most definitely as impressed as I was with the Spring collection
